Romanchuk Secures $2.7 Million for Key Medina County Projects

COLUMBUS—State Senator Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) this week voted yes on the state's capital budget, a $3.5 billion investment in Ohio's infrastructure and local community projects.

The legislature generally approves a capital budget every two years, and the bill funds needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, roads and bridges, and mental health and addiction facilities.

Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) secured more than $2.7 million in funding for multiple projects across Medina County.

“I am very pleased these projects received funding in this year’s Capital Budget,” Senator Romanchuk said. “These projects will bolster our communities.”

Projects that have secured funding in Medina include:
  • Medina County Emergency Housing Shelter $450,000
  • Medina Recreation Center $350,000
  • Medina Christian Academy Capital Expansion Phase II $300,000
  • Lodi Community Park $250,000
  • Brunswick Recreation Center $250,000
  • Valleyview Park $240,000
  • McDowell-Phillips House Museum $175,000
  • Wadsworth / Friedt Park $125,000
  • Medina / Cobblestone Park $100,000
  • Wadsworth / Weatherstone Park $100,000
  • Sharon Nature Preserve Trails Phase I $75,000
  • Wadsworth Safety Town Park $75,000
  • Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities $50,000
  • Brunswick Lake ADA Canoe/Kayak Launch $50,000
  • Westfield Center Community Center ADA Improvement Project $50,000
  • Lafayette Township / Chippewa Falls Rail Trail $40,000
  • Montville Township / Blue Heron Park Trail Phase II $25,000
  • Chippewa Lake / Gloria Glens Southwest Park $25,000
  • Westfield Center Improvements $25,000
  • Montville Township / Blue Heron Park Flood Mitigation $20,000
The Capital Budget will go to the Governor's desk for signing.
