COLUMBUS—State Senator Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) voted for Senate Bill 450, Ohio's Capital Budget, securing $5,881,500 for projects throughout the 22nd Senate District.

The State Legislature generally approves a capital budget every two years, funding necessary improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction services.

"I'm proud to deliver funding for these projects supporting communities across the 22nd District," said Senator Romanchuk. "The funding secured in this year's Capital Budget will bring a significant economic impact throughout the region. I look forward to seeing the positive effect these investments will have on the lives of citizens in Richland, Ashland, and Medina Counties."

Projects that Senator Romanchuk secured funding for in the 22nd Senate District include:

  • Appleseed Community Mental Health Center - $210,000
  • Hinckley Lake Facilities Renovation - $250,000
  • Mansfield Playhouse Project - $1,000,000

The Capital Budget also directs over $600 million to new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools, nearly $400 million to projects run by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health, and over $250 million towards supporting programs overseen by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
