ANTANI RELEASES STATEMENT ON HOUSE BILL 687

COLUMBUS – Today, State Senator Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) released a statement on House Bill 687, which passed the Senate unanimously. The bill enacts legislation making capital appropriations. The bill appropriates billions of dollars of state capital expenses and incentives for Intel, but also includes $400M of America Rescue Plan (ARP) funds. Sen. Antani has been the foremost advocate against spending ARP dollars. “Today, I voted for the state capital bill and incentives for Intel. However, I strongly oppose the ARP appropriation included in the bill. I will continue to oppose spending this gluttonous money, including by voting against HB 377 today. However, within HB 687, the positive effect of the billions of dollars in capital appropriations and Intel incentives outweighed the small ARP appropriation, and thus I voted for the bill.”
