Today, state Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) commended the Ohio Controlling Board’s decision to release capital funds to the University of Toledo to purchase equipment for their RAPIDS 6.0 workforce training program.

“I am pleased that the University of Toledo will receive these necessary funds,” said Hicks-Hudson. “It is critical that funding and support are available for the success of the workforce training program and equipping Northwest Ohioans with the necessary skills to be productive and able to take care of their families.”

The release of $129,480.00 in capital funds includes an agency released competitive opportunity in the amount of $61,470.00 to purchase workforce training equipment from Testforce, Addison, TX, for the Workforce Based Training & Equipment Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS 6.0) program in Toledo, Lucas County.

Additionally, The Adjutant General's Department’s request for funds in the amount of $3,000.00 was approved. These funds will be used to waive competitive selection to amend the contract with TTL Associates, Inc., Toledo, OH (Lucas County) for the Camp Perry Joint Military Training Center cottage point project in Port Clinton, Ohio (Ottawa County).

“The funds released for the Camp Perry Point Project will allow additional design services to revise civil and architectural drawings to move planned cottages to a 30-foot separation to comply with Ohio building codes,” said Hicks-Hudson. “I look forward to seeing the next phase of this project.”
