Today, state Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) issued the following statement after the Ohio Senate passed House Bill 86, which made changes to the adult use recreational marijuana laws passed under Issue 2.

“After contentious negotiations, the final version of House Bill 86 is certainly not perfect. But many of these changes to Issue 2 will in fact help make Ohio competitive and ensure we are better equipped to implement legalized marijuana," said Hicks-Hudson. "I am particularly pleased that the language I championed to expunge possession convictions was included as part of the bill, as well as $15 million in funding for legal aid, court costs, and expungement fees. We will continue advocating for policy that reflects what voters passed in Issue 2."
