$3.5 Billion Investment for Ohio's Communities, Senator Stephanie Kunze Secures More than $20 Million for Franklin County Projects

COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Hilliard) announced $21.6 million in funding for key community projects for Franklin County.

The legislature generally approves a capital budget every two years, funding needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, roads and bridges, and mental health and addiction facilities.

Projects that received $2 million or more include the Gracehaven Multipurpose Building, The Heritage Trail Extension and the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

The Capital Budget also provided more than $700 million for school facilities, and an additional $100 million for school security upgrades.

“Now more than ever, we need to make sure key community projects move forward as our neighborhoods emerge from the pandemic,” said Senator Kunze. “I’m very pleased that we provided additional dollars to school facilities around the state, with a strong investment for school security.”

Once passed by both chambers, the Capital Budget bill will go to Governor DeWine for his signature.
