COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Hilliard) yesterday honored Worthington's Bluffsview Elementary School Archery Team for winning the 2019 Ohio National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) State Tournament.
This is the team's second state title, having previously won in 2013. They are now headed to the National Championship in Louisville, Kentucky on May 10, 2019.
"I am proud to recognize these young student athletes on their outstanding achievement," said Kunze. "Clearly, the hard work and dedication they have put forth has paid off, and I wish them the best of luck at the National Competition."
Sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, NASP promotes archery as part of the in-school physical education curriculum and teaches international target archery skills to elementary, middle and high school students. Ohio's pilot program began in 2004 with 12 participating schools. As of 2013, over 625 schools were participating in NASP.
