COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Hilliard) today honored two Columbus area high school men's golf teams for securing state titles.
"I am honored to celebrate both the Worthington Christian High School and Dublin Jerome High School men's golf teams for their well-deserved state titles," said Senator Kunze. "These exceptional young men exemplify talent, work ethic, and teamwork. I am proud of these young leaders not only because of their athletic and academic achievements, but also because they have represented their communities with integrity and dedication."
The Dublin Jerome High School men's golf team won the 2017 Division I State Championship. On the first day of the tournament, Dublin Jerome shot a score of 295, the lowest single day team score in tournament history. Also during today's session, Senator Kunze honored the Worthington Christian High School men's golf team, who won the 2017 Division III State Championship. Worthington Christian shot a two-day total of 623 to win the tournament by 17 strokes.
Both the Division I and Division III tournaments took place on the Ohio State University Scarlet Golf Course in October.
