COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) honored state swimming champion Eli Stoll in the Ohio Senate today. A senior at Jonathan Alder High School, Eli took first place in the 2023 OHSAA Division II State Swimming Championship 100-yard backstroke. It was a successful title defense, as Eli was the state champion in the same event last year. This year, he also won second place in the 200-yard individual medley.

"Eli has such a bright future, I am looking forward to seeing what else he will accomplish," said Kunze. "This is a remarkable achievement and I have no doubt he will continue to excel in athletics."

Eli has cemented himself in Jonathan Alder history as the school’s first swimmer to win a state championship. He is a four-year letter winner, a 2022 Junior National Qualifier in the 100 backstroke, and a 2021 Junior National Finalist in the 200 backstroke.

Eli has also previously competed in the Olympic Trials and is committed to swim at The Ohio State University.
