COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Hilliard) joined central Ohio leaders yesterday to celebrate the grand opening of the new Childhood League Center located on the campus of the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center.

“The community and family support of the Childhood League is a model worthy of emulation,” said Kunze. “Every child, regardless of ability, deserves a strong foundation of early learning that helps to ensure the best opportunity for future success.”

Located on Cleveland Avenue, the new Childhood League Center is committed to serving children ages 6 and under. Part of the Childhood League Center’s mission is to provide early childhood educational opportunities and empower families. Inclusive programs are designed to promote positive development and learning for all children.

In 1945, a group of Columbus women formed the Childhood League to help children in need. After more than 70 years, the program still plays an important role in providing early childhood development opportunities at a new state-of-the-art campus.

As a member of the Ohio legislature, Senator Kunze has championed various efforts to enhance early childhood education opportunities and helped to strengthen support services for children and parents living with developmental disabilities.
