COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Hilliard) today was honored by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN) as a champion and advocate for victims of domestic violence.
As a member of the Ohio Senate, Kunze has led on several pieces of legislation to strengthen protections for victims of domestic violence, increase penalties for offenders and help survivors of abuse rebuild their lives.
Most recently in the state budget, Kunze worked to provide $7.5 million for domestic violence survivor services in Ohio.
ODVN is a statewide advocacy group comprised of over 70 shelters and rape crisis centers throughout the state. "The Ohio Domestic Violence Network deserves our highest praise for its commitment to helping victims of domestic violence," said Kunze. "As long as I have a voice I will use it to fight for those in vulnerable situations and continue doing what I can to help survivors rebuild their lives."
Domestic Violence Awareness Month is observed in Ohio and throughout the country every October with the purpose of raising awareness and connecting advocates who are working to end violence.
