Kunze Recognizes Columbus Metropolitan Library on its 150th Anniversary
COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) presented a resolution today honoring the Columbus Metropolitan Library on its 150th Anniversary. The library was founded in 1873 as a single reading room inside the original Columbus City Hall, and has now grown to 23 locations serving Franklin County.
"Columbus Metropolitan Library has evolved alongside and enriched our communities throughout these 150 years," said Kunze. "And I have no doubt it will continue to do so in the years to come."
The senator praised the library's dedicated staff for working hard to address literacy attainment and meeting workforce needs, and for proving to be a strong community partner.
The library has developed numerous resources over the decades to benefit the communities it serves. That includes offering children’s story time, homework help centers, and job help centers.
