COLUMBUS - State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) announced millions of dollars will fund key Capital Budget projects across Senate District 16. This is the second phase of the process following last week’s announcement of a $350 million investment by the Senate in Ohio communities from the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund.

"These investments will invigorate our communities and improve our quality life now and for years to come," said Senator Kunze. "This funding will make our area more attractive to businesses and make major upgrades to our recreational facilities."

Some of the projects funded in Senator Kunze’s district include:

Barthelmas Park Walking Trail and Softball Diamond Expansion - $750,000
The Depot at Public Square - $401,250
Franklin County Fairgrounds 4H Hose Barns - $100,000

The Capital Budget also includes $600 million for new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools and $575 million for local infrastructure projects such as roads and water and sewer projects.

The legislature generally approves a Capital Budget every two years, funding needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities.

The House and Senate introduced similar legislation that will be vetted in both chambers.
