COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) announced the Ohio Department of Natural Resources NatureWorks program will award over $51,000 for two recreation projects in Darke County.

The Darke County Park District was awarded $22,113 to rebuild the Prairie boardwalk. The Village of Wayne Lake was awarded $29,604 to upgrade the Wayne Lakes Beach cooling area for accessibility.

"These funds will help Darke County revitalize two recreational assets in the community," said Huffman. "I look forward to seeing them completed and how they help get more residents and visitors outdoors."

NaureWorks projects are funded through the Ohio Parks and Natural Resources Bond Issue which was approved by Ohio voters in 1993.
