Huffman Celebrates Grant Award for Sinclair Community College
COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) is proud to announce that Sinclair Community College is the recipient of a grant to support students in career planning and network opportunities.
"Creating programs so that students receive the guidance and support networks for success is a necessary step to ensure a stable workforce," said Senator Huffman. "I'm proud to see Sinclar Community College included in this funding and look forward to the opportunities it will bring to students."
Sinclair Community College will receive $857,293 in grant money as approved by Governor DeWine's administration. The grant is part of $7.1 million in funding from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
The funding is to be used to establish Career Pathway Support Networks in place of existing Tech Prep Regional Centers. Each Career Pathway Support Network is to be guided by a regional steering committee. The networks will lead planning for career-connected learning that is aligned with local workforce demand and are expected to build partnerships among education, business, and community leaders.
