COLUMBUS - State Senators Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) and Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) today introduced new legislation providing an additional $125 million of federal pandemic relief to bars, restaurants and lodging businesses across Ohio.
“The funds included in this bill provide direct relief to our businesses in our communities who are emerging from a difficult time,” said Huffman. “I trust my colleagues in the Senate will move quickly on this legislation to continue providing relief to those who need it most.”
To date, more than $2.5 billion in funding has been approved by the General Assembly to be distributed to Ohio’s communities and schools as they emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our small business owners, restaurants and bars have suffered for months from the pandemic. It is imperative that we get these needed dollars to them, as so many of these businesses are on the brink of closing forever,” stated Romachuk.
Testimony on Senate Bill 108 will begin March 9th in Senate Finance Committee, and a companion bill will be introduced in the Ohio House of Representatives.
