Sen. Steve Huffman Announces Historic Biennial Budget

COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) today celebrates the state's new two-year biennial budget, highlighting several provisions in the final version of the bill. The budget includes $200,000 over the biennium for the Lincoln Community Center in Troy, Ohio, a provision championed by Huffman. The center provides support to underprivileged youth in the community. The bill also includes a landmark $1.6 billion in personal income tax cuts, including a 100% state income tax cut for anyone making $25,000 or less. An additional 125,000 Ohioans will no longer pay income taxes under this plan. It also increases eligibility for families wanting to choose a different school or educational opportunity for their children. Senator Huffman released the following statement on the budget:

"This is a responsible budget that goes to great lengths to fill the needs of the people in our community who need it most, whether that be through historic tax cuts or funding programs that support at risk kids. It was an honor to lead the Senate Health Committee during this process, hearing from hundreds of Ohioans on issues that are important to the health and well-being of our State, including expanding medicaid benefits for new mothers and children in need."
