Senator Huffman Issues Statement Regarding His Commitment to Ohioans During COVID-19

COLUMBUS - State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) today issued the following statement regarding his commitment to Ohioans during the COVID-19 pandemic: "As many of you know, in addition to serving as your State Senator, I'm also an ER doctor. Out of an abundance of caution and respect for the health and safety of my patients, my family and Senate colleagues, I chose to remain in my office during today's session. I was able to participate by waiting for the chamber to recess. Afterwards, I was able to go to the chamber and cast a vote representing your voices, in favor of this emergency legislation. Following that, the Senate adjourned, with a final tally of 29-to-0. I took an oath to protect the people of Ohio as both a medical professional and a State Senator. During this unprecedented time, it is more important than ever for me to continue to safely serve my constituents and my patients." Senator Huffman voted in favor of several relief measures today which will become part of temporary law and will be in place until the Governor’s March 9, 2020 emergency order is rescinded, or until December 1, 2020, whichever comes first.
