COLUMBUS - State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) this week announced that a project in Preble County has been awarded a Job Creation Tax Credit in support of an expansion project at Mars Petcare, a dog and cat food production company in Harrison Township.
The expansion is expected to create 224 full-time positions and provide more than $11.5 million in new annual payroll and retain $5.4 million in existing payroll.
“This project will bring new jobs and help spur additional economic development in the area,” Huffman said. “I applaud Mars Petcare for choosing to expand their operations in Ohio and invest in the hard-working people of our state.”
The 10-year tax credit was approved at a recent meeting of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, which approved assistance for 7 projects across the state, resulting in the creation of more than 992 jobs and the retention of 1,047 others.
