COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) welcomed Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School student McKenzie Reid to the Ohio Senate today to recognize the standout swimmer's Division II State Swimming Championship.
"McKenzie's outstanding career has made all of us extremely proud," said Huffman. "Not only did she finish her high school career by setting several new school records and earning the state champ title, she will continue to make us proud as a student-athlete at Miami University this fall. I look forward to her future success."
The Eagle's swimmer set the new school record with a time of 54.58 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly to win the state title.
Reid will continue her competitive swimming career as she furthers her education at Miami University.
