COLUMBUS—State Senator Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) today announced Controlling Board approval of $127,000 for Mental Health and Addiction Services to acquire and renovate a home in order to create a mental health and substance abuse recovery residence in Adams County.

Compass Point Housing, Inc., will purchase the location in West Union, for the purpose of providing a level II recovery housing facility for up to five adult women in recovery from substance use disorders. Residents will have access to ample shared spaces, including a living room, laundry and an updated kitchen and dining area. Planned renovations will include interior updates as well as two bathroom remodels and a new HVAC system.

"The services provided by this facility will be of great benefit to those who are struggling with addiction in our community," said Johnson. "Long-term housing and recovery treatment facilities create an environment of stability that is critical to breaking the cycle of addiction." Compass Point Housing is a partner agency with the Adams, Lawrence, Scioto, Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board.
