COLUMBUS—State Senator Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) today applauded the decision by Nestlé Purina PetCare Company to select Williamsburg Township as the location for its first new pet food manufacturing facility in 45 years.

"I applaud Nestlé Purina PetCare for investing in the hard-working people of Clermont County and the surrounding area," Johnson said. "Now more than ever is the time to be investing in our vigorous American workforce and I am thankful to Nestlé Purina for stepping up to the plate."

The 1.2-million-square-foot pet food manufacturing facility is set to begin operations by 2023. This facility is expected to create 300 new full-time jobs by 2024 including professional staff, engineers, production operators, and technical staff. These new positions are anticipated to generate $12.5 million in new annual payroll. Nestlé currently employs 3,300 people in Ohio, with operations in Solon, Marysville, Cleveland, Brecksville, and Zanesville.
