COLUMBUS—The Ohio Senate today unanimously passed Senate Resolution 258, sponsored by State Senator Theresa Gavarone (R-Huron), condemning Russian President Vladimir Putin for waging war against Ukraine, on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
This resolution affirms the state of Ohio's unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
Senator Gavarone issued the following statement:
"The people of Ohio stand with the people of Ukraine in condemning Russian President Vladimir Putin's savage invasion of his neighbor. There is simply no excuse for his actions. With this resolution, the Ohio Senate is making it clear that we stand with President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine. War in Europe is an unthinkable atrocity in this day and age.
