Sykes Announces Eastern European of Ohio License Plate Bill Signed Into Law

Today, state Senator Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) announced that Senate Bill 163, which includes his legislation to create an Eastern European of Ohio license plate, was signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine.
“Over the years, many Eastern Europeans have found peace and prosperity in Ohio, and their contributions and perseverance are a fundamental part of our state’s continued success,” Sykes said. “From engineering, technology, education, art and science, Eastern Europeans have greatly contributed to the prosperity of our state.”
Senator Sykes introduced legislation earlier this year to celebrate the more than 1.1 million Ohioans with Eastern European ancestry. S.B. 163, an omnibus bill amended to include the creation of this license plate and more than 30 other new specialty Ohio license plates, was signed into law on Thursday.
