Today, state Senator Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) supported the Ohio Controlling Board's decision to release more than $284 thousand for a contract with Coleman Data Solutions in Akron.

“I’m pleased that the Controlling Board has decided to release these funds to support an Akron-based company,” said Sykes, who sits on the Controlling Board. “The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of giving people simplified access to financial resources when they need it most. Thanks to this funding, Coleman Data Solutions will help make it easier for HEAP to provide Ohioans assistance with their energy bills.”

Coleman Data Solutions is a not-for-profit company that specializes in data processing and information management for businesses, corporations and government organizations. This funding will allow the company to provide cost-effective application processing services for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Coleman Data Solutions has provided these services to the Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Community Assistance in prior fiscal years.
