Sykes Commends PASSPORT Funding Released by Controlling Board

Today, state Senator Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) supported the Ohio Controlling Board's decision to release more than $840 million over two years for distribution to PASSPORT Administrative Agencies.
“The PASSPORT program is an invaluable community resource,” said Sykes, who is a sitting member on the Controlling Board. “Older Ohioans typically prefer to age at home, and funding for this program supports that decision.”
PASSPORT is a program within Medicaid to help eligible Ohioans get long-term services and supports to age in place. Case managers develop a package of customized in-home services, monitored for quality of care and changed as necessary to accommodate needs.
“Especially after the high levels of Covid-19 spread in congregate care settings, the PASSPORT program is necessary for keeping our family members in a safe environment where they can stay healthy and comfortable,” said Sykes.
