Sykes Comments on State of the State

Today, state Senator Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) issued the following statement in response to Governor Mike DeWine’s State of the State address. “The Governor’s address today left me cautiously optimistic. His push for improving early childhood education programs is welcome, as is his overall willingness to engage with the legislature. But I still want to see more accountability for charter schools, meaningful criminal justice reform and a tax structure that puts working families first. I look forward to reviewing the governor’s operating budget to examine his priorities.”
