Sykes Recognized for Contributions to NEOMED College of Dentistry
This week, state Senator Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) joined President John Langell of the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) to be recognized as a key supporter of the new Bitonte College of Dentistry.
"I commend NEOMED’s vision and commitment to targeting both the social and health disparities that plague our current oral health system," Sykes said. “NEOMED has long proven itself to be an invaluable asset to Northeast Ohio, facilitating high-quality medical instruction that connects students to the needs of our region. This college only serves to further that laudable mission.”
Senator Sykes was recognized at this event alongside state Senator Jerry Cirino (R-Kirtland) and state Representative Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County). The Bitonte College of Dentistry will be the second public and third overall dental college in Ohio. Applications for the inaugural class of students are expected to open later this year.
