Today, state Senator Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) released the following statement in response to Ohio’s Tenth District Court of Appeals’s decision to overturn a previous ruling requiring Secretary of State Frank LaRose to accept electronic absentee ballot requests:
“I’m pleased that the Appellate Court confirmed that Secretary of State Frank LaRose has the power to accept electronic ballot applications if he has the political will to do so. So, the question is, in all these cases, how much political will do the Secretary of State and the legislature have to simplify the voting process in Ohio and increase participation in our elections?”
