DeMora Announces $100.5M Investment in Franklin County Projects

Today, state Senator Bill DeMora (D-Columbus) commended the Ohio Senate’s passage of the state’s capital budget (House Bill 2), which includes $17.5 million for 18 projects within Ohio’s 25th Senate District and over $100.5 million for Franklin County as a whole.

“This budget will bring great development to Franklin County and the whole state of Ohio,” said DeMora. “I am very excited for the community projects to begin their work and further help the people of Columbus. From technology development to mental healthcare organizations, these projects encompass a wide range of community needs that will be addressed.”

Overall, the bill appropriates $3.5 billion in new capital funding, $717.8 million in One-Time Strategic Community Investments Fund (OTSCIF) appropriations, and $1.98 billion in re-appropriations for unspent capital dollars. 

Some projects from Senate District 25 that are being funded include: Mid-Ohio Food Collective Eastland Prosperity Center, Elevate Northand, the Somali Community Link Center, Grandview Heights Fire/EMS Police Facility and more. There was significant funding for trail improvement, including: the Heritage Trail, Linden Green Line, and Village of Minerva Trail Improvement.  

The bill now goes to the governor for his signature. Learn more about the projects supported by the capital budget here
