DeMora Announces $22.1M Investment in Franklin County Projects
Today, state Senator Bill DeMora (D-Columbus) commended the Ohio Senate’s passage of the state’s capital budget (Senate Bill 450), which includes nearly $22.1 million for community projects in Franklin County.
“I could not be happier to support such critical funding for important projects in my district, Franklin County, and throughout the state of Ohio,” said DeMora. “This capital budget does a fantastic job of distributing funds fairly across all counties and districts of the General Assembly. For that, I want to thank the sponsor, the committee chairman, and all of the staff who worked on this for months.”
Overall, the bill appropriates $3.7 billion in capital funding, including $208 million for community projects across the state.
Local projects in the bill include:
- Amazing nonprofits such as Elevate Northland and the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Center
- Housing projects such as Vista Village and Deer Hill Place
- Community hubs such as the Columbus Museum of Art, the Columbus Zoo, the Mirolo Sensory Park, the Central Ohio Fire Museum, and the Short North Stage
- Job Training facilities such as the Edison Welding Institute and the Ohio Life Sciences Training Center
