Today, state Senator Bill DeMora (D-Columbus) condemned the announcement that the Haslam Sports Group will be moving the Columbus Crew v. Inter Miami CF game to Cleveland in a shameless attempt to make more money.

“Columbus Crew fans are the best fans in this country, and for them to get disrespected like this for no reason other than the owners wanting to get more money is abominable,” said DeMora. “Franklin County taxpayers have forked over tens of millions of dollars to build a state-of-the-art stadium only to have the Haslam’s spit in their face. Cleveland residents should remember this disloyalty when multi-billionaire Jimmy Haslam (whose net worth is currently estimated at $8.5 billion dollars) comes to them asking them to pay for a brand-new stadium.”
