DeMora Condemns Extremist News Platform on the Ohio Senate Website

Today, state Senator Bill DeMora (D-Columbus) condemned the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus for their creation of an extremist, right-wing news program, On the Record, using state resources. The outlet claims to publish viewpoints and articles that have not been published by existing news media due to “left-wing bias.”

“They’re realizing that Ohioans don’t share their out-of-touch and out-of-date views, so they’re trying to change the narrative,” said DeMora. “Traditional media outlets won’t print their offensive lies and attacks against women, minorities and the LGBTQ+ community, so they created their own radical platform with no fact checking or balance.”

On the Record has featured several articles that include misinformation about reproductive healthcare, public and higher education, transgender Ohioans, green energy and racism. Several of the published pieces were rejected by outlets including the Columbus Dispatch and the Cleveland Plain Dealer due to offensive language or factual inaccuracies.
