DeMora Denounces Antisemitic Garbage on Senate Website

Today, state Senator Bill DeMora (D-Columbus), denounced the publication of a blatantly antisemitic article on the On the Record section of the Ohio Senate Republican-controlled website. The article accuses “woke billionaires” of manipulating the media in Ohio for their own gain. 

“I am disgusted that an unelected person posted a known antisemitic conspiracy theory on the Senate website, claiming to be ‘the voice of the Senate,’” said DeMora. “The featured photo with the article is a hate symbol used against Jewish people. It is disgusting that this offensive garbage was published, especially on a taxpayer-funded website, and there ought to be an apology issued. This article is just the latest icing on the racist fake news cake baked by the Senate Republicans. We should be ashamed this horrendous and offensive content has been published under the name of the Ohio Senate.”

The article, titled “Tracing the Fake News Money Trail” claims that “billionaire globalists” are controlling the media in Ohio through the use of their “tentacles.” The use of octopus imagery in antisemitic propaganda dates back over 100 years and has been used to portray Jewish people as controlling and manipulating various aspects of society.
