DeMora Sworn Into Office as State Senator
Today, state Senator Bill DeMora (D-Columbus) took the oath of office to serve in the Ohio Senate during the 135th General Assembly.
"I am honored to be serving the residents of the 25th District. I am proud to live in this community, and I will never stop fighting to make it a better place for those who call it home,” said Senator DeMora. "I am here today because the voters in my district trusted me to fight for them. I will never shut them out of the legislative process and my office will have a complete open-door policy to help any and all. Too often, state legislators come to Columbus and pass laws that hurt Ohioans with zero community input. This has been a problem for far too long and I won't let it happen to my constituents."
DeMora is honored to be serving in his first term in the Ohio Senate after previously serving as Executive Director for the Ohio Democratic Party and the Ohio League of Conservation Voters. He has led numerous statewide and national political campaigns supporting candidates for municipal and statewide office, as well as for the Ohio General Assembly. DeMora has also served as Ohio Democratic Party’s Convention and Delegate Director, where he has directed the Democratic National Convention’s Ohio delegation for the past 7 election cycles. Senator DeMora has also served as Secretary of the Ohio Democratic Party and as a member of the party’s Central and Executive Committees.
Senator DeMora has always been an advocate for strong labor unions and is proud to have worked closely with various unions his entire career.
Senator DeMora will represent the 25th Senate District, which encompasses parts of Franklin County and Columbus, including Clintonville, Victorian Village, Italian Village, Harrison West, OSU Campus, Northland, Linden, Clinton Township (part), Mifflin Township (part), Franklin Township (part), Grandview Heights, Marble Cliff, Upper Arlington, Blendon Township (part), Minerva Park, Plain Township (part), and Sharon Township (part).
