Blackshear Urges Buc-ee's to Drop Lawsuit Against Beaver's Mini Mart

Today, state Senator Willis E. Blackshear Jr. (D-Dayton) issued the following statement after Buc-ee’s filed a lawsuit alleging trademark infringement against Beaver’s Mini Mart, a small business in Beavercreek, Ohio.

This lawsuit is clearly unfair and should be dropped, said Blackshear. Costly litigation would be extremely detrimental to a small business that is respected in the community. While I hope that Buc-ee’s will reconsider this lawsuit or come to an agreement with Beaver’s Mini Mart, I am confident that the courts will resolve the dispute fairly.

The Buc-ee’s lawsuit is one in a series of lawsuits filed against small businesses that have led to outrage among community members. This pattern of corporate litigation against small businesses has become especially concerning.
