Today, state Senator Willis E. Blackshear Jr. (D-Dayton) urged his colleagues in the Ohio legislature to take action on gun legislation.

“This isn't a Democrat issue or a Republican issue, but a human issue. One life lost is one too many. I’m feeling increasingly uneasy after recent shootings in Dayton, Columbus, Toledo, and across our state,” said Blackshear. “With six months left in office, I’m asking Governor Dewine to revisit the commonsense gun legislation he proposed after the 2019 mass shooting in Dayton and fight for its passage. Gun violence is an expense that our cities and our state can no longer afford.”
