A Century of Involvement: The Canton Palace Theater | 2026 Capital Budget
Every two years, members of the Ohio General Assembly meet with businesses, non-profits, and organizations within their district to appropriate funding for projects impacting local communities.
This year’s Capital Budget, Senate Bill 450, included nearly $4 billion for local projects across the state, ranging from museum renovations, park improvements, and projects to honor our nation’s veterans.
For some in Stark County, the Capital Budget is funding a community staple.
Senior Press Secretary Libby Krieger brings us to the Canton Palace Theater, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, to discuss its century of productions, community involvement, and three generations of first dates.
Hear from Executive Director Georgia Paxos and Senator Jane Timken about how funding from the State Capital Budget is helping this local landmark stand the test of time.
Find it here on our YouTube and on Facebook.
Senator Jane Timken joins the President’s Podcast this week to discuss the Capital Budget, voter ID, Ohio’s status as the top state for business, and memories of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
