Civil War Encampment Provides Living History Lesson to Students

Elementary students had a blast at the Ohio Statehouse this week.
Literally.
Civil War Reenactors set up camp on the Statehouse lawn complete with Civil War era cannons firing throughout the afternoon.
The boom shook the statehouse much the way, President Lincoln’s death shook the nation.
His body lay in repose at the Ohio Statehouse as part of the President’s funeral train.
The reenactors camp helped the words and facts from he students history books jump off the page and come to life. Join us for an up close look at this special day.
