Giant cooling towers from the Perry Nuclear Power Plant showcase the strong role nuclear power will have as part of Ohio's energy future following the passage of Ohio's new forward looking 21st Century Energy Plan in spring of 2025. The vote was unanimous in the Senate.

Today the power of that plan is paying off as it provided the path for new development projects to not only power their own operation but to also plug that power into the grid.

Recently a $33 billion project was announced by the Trump Administration at the site of the old Porstmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Pike County. Part of it will feature a Meta data center development driven by an SMR—otherwise known as a Small Nuclear Reactor which is a project spearheaded by Oklo Inc.

The Pike County site will require thousands of construction jobs and it represents a multi-billion dollar investment to renew both Ohio's power generation capacity but its transmission capacity as well.

Watch our story with Senate Energy Chairman Brian Chavez, Senate Finance Chairman Jerry Cirino, and Adrienne Schweer who represents Government Affairs for Oklo as they outline the innovative way nuclear will be a long term generator here at home.

Then make sure to watch our one-on-one interview with Asim Haque who is the former Chairman of the Public Utilities Commissionin Ohio and now serves as an Executive Vice President with PJM. He explains what PJM is, what it does, and why Ohio is positioned well on both the generation and transmission side for consumers.
