Ohio General Assembly Suspends State Gas Tax
$725 million dollars. Nearly 3/4 of a billion in savings for Ohio drivers at the gas pump.
The three month suspension of the state's gas tax takes effect Sunday.
Led by Senate and House Republicans the General Assembly passed a bill suspending the MFT (Motor Fuel Tax) for 90 days.

The state's tax on gasoline is 38.5 cents per gallon and the tax on diesel is 47 cents per gallon.
Although it was a bipartisan vote, more than half of the Democrats in each chamber voted against giving Ohioans the tax cut at the gas pump which will run through the holidays.
