Ohio Senate Fights for Success
This week the Ohio Senate passed four pieces of legislation to better and honor the lives of Ohioans. While the legacy media ignores or diminishes the work done in this chamber, the Majority Caucus has continued to fight for the success of every man, woman, and child across the Buckeye State. From increased discounts for veterans to ensuring students future success, these bills show America why Ohio is the Heart of it all.
The legislation passed by the Ohio Senate this week are the following:
- House Bill 27: Sponsored by Representatives Callendar and Troy, this legislation honors Specialist Jacob A. Ashton, who tragically lost his life while serving in the United States Army, by dedicating the bridge spanning the Grand River in Lake County in his name. The Ohio Senate proudly passed this legislation unanimously.
- Senate Bill 156: Sponsored by Senator Cutrona, this legislation establishes a curriculum for grades six to twelve which teaches that those who graduate from high school, work full time, and marry before having kids are significantly less likely to live in poverty as an adult. As Senator Cutrona stated during his sponsor testimony, “The success sequence is a proven formula to help young adults avoid poverty and achieve the American Dream.” This legislation passed with 24 yeas.
