Father. Grandfather. Friend to those who protect and serve.

Strongsville is his home.

He is a son of Cuyahoga County who never left.

Senator Tom Patton joins the President's Podcast.

He has championed the health and safety of the brave men and women who protect and serve Ohio every day.  The son of a Cleveland Police Officer, Senator Patton is the father of a Cleveland Heights Officer who died in the line of duty. He knows the pain of loss and yet the joy of ten grandchildren.

Senator Patton talks about the passage of his recent bill that improves the competency standard for defendants, especially violent ones, following a case in Cleveland that ended with a fatal ambush and shooting of a police offiicer.

His 23 years of service in the General Assembly provides unique insight and perspective about today's most heated public policy debate—Property taxes. He has also sponsored two additional bills that add to the General Assembly's recent property tax reforms. These two bills address retirees and totally disabled veterans along with their survivors. He also delivers a thoughtful message about the ongoing campaign to repeal property taxes statewide.
