What's not to love on Valentine's weekend especially after the Ohio Senate approved a National Champion Head Coach as the next Lt. Governor, and passed Senate Bill 1, ending discriminatory DEI faculty hiring practices and returning a true environment of education rather than indoctrination to Ohio's Universities and community colleges.

First and ten for the State of Ohio as Governor Mike DeWine caught the media napping and announced Jim Tressel as the nominee for the vacant office of Lt. Governor on Monday morning.

The position was open after former Lt. Governor Jon Husted became the new United States Senator for Ohio.

Senate President Rob McColley enthusiastically endorsed Tressel's nomination for Lt. Governor with a strong statement after the Governor's announcement.

Tressel who retired after ten years serving as the President of Youngstown State University understands the role Ohio's public universities have in preparing a qualified and competent workforce for the careers that are landing and expanding here at home.

Tressel met with Senate Republicans during their caucus meeting on Tuesday.

Lt. Governor Tressel was confirmed by the both the Senate and House during Wednesday's voting session, with only one democrat voting no in the Senate. Watch the floor speeches endorsing his nomination from Senator Al Cutrona, President McColley and Democrat Bill Demora who sported the famous Jim Tressel Sweater Vest on the Senate Floor.

President McColley signed the Joint Resolution confirming Tressel's nomination on a 31 to 1 vote.

From the college gridiron to the grip of cancel culture on Ohio's college campuses.

The Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 1, The Advance Ohio Higher Education Act this week. Watch lead sponsor of the bill, Senator Jerry Cirino, take questions from the press during an improptu reporter "gaggle" this week.

It puts students first, and ends DEI and the campus cancel culture that is pervasive through the faculty hiring process and in the classroom. SB 1 prohibits the faculty union from striking which protects student tuition from being held hostage over a labor dispute, and it establishes performance reviews for tenured professors.

Senator Theresa Gavarone, a member of Senate leadership, drove home the point in her statement about the critical need for the higher education reforms passed with Senate Bill 1.

SB 1 sponsor Jerry Cirino joins President Rob McColley for separate one-on-one interviews in this week's President's Podcast.
