U.S. Air Force Veteran and 7 Term Congressman Leads Youngstown State University to High Tech Future
Whoever said penguins can't fly hasn't been to Youngstown State University lately.
That's because YSU has a high flyer leading its campus.
University President Bill Johnson retired a Lt. Colonel in the United States Airforce after a 27 year career that included serving as the Director of the CIO Staff at U.S. Special Operations Command. He served 7 terms in Congress representing Ohio's 6th District in eastern and southeastern Ohio.
Youngstown State University's enrollment is growing and with tuition at just over $10,000 a year it is among the lowest and most affordable in the state.
Bill Johnson is a leader who truly understands the critical role our campuses of higher education need to represent in a world that poses many high tech threats to the freedoms we enjoy under the protection of the Stars and Stripes.
This week on The President's Podcast, YSU President Bill Johnson delivers a revealing interview on what international threats he worries about the most, why the U.S. needs to win the AI race, and how Youngstown State's STEM College is preparing our youth for the future.
He also talks about his book, "Raising Fathers," that drives home the importance of fatherhood through a very personal and painful tragedy.
The President's Podcast is streamed on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart, and Amazon Podcasts.
