COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) announced millions of dollars will fund key Capital Budget projects across Senate District 31. This is the second phase of the process following last week’s announcement of a $350 million investment by the Senate in Ohio communities from the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund.

"I am deeply appreciative to see these worthwhile projects get substantial funding in this budget," said Landis. "We can expect to see considerable improvements in our district's business climate and health and public safety services."

Some of the projects funded in District 31 include:

• Zane State Regional Engineering Hub $625,000
• The Harold D. Miller Park Improvement project $300,000
• Tuscarawas County Emergency Management $200,000
• Carr Center Essential Facility Upgrades $200,000

The Capital Budget also includes $600 million for new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools and $575 million for local infrastructure projects such as roads and water and sewer projects.

The legislature generally approves a Capital Budget every two years, funding needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities.

The House and Senate introduced similar legislation today that will be vetted in both chambers. See a full list of Capital Budget projects by clicking here, and follow On the Record to keep updated on this year’s Capital Budget process.
