Reineke Announces Funding for Community Development Projects
COLUMBUS—State Senator Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) announced multiple communities in the region will receive funding for community development projects. Five counties and municipalities will receive $688,250 for this work.
"These grant dollars will help our locals invest in several important items to enhance public safety, preserve our history, and improve our recreational sites," Reineke said. "This is all good news for rural Ohio."
Among the award recipients:
- Marion County will receive $150,000 to provide funding for building upgrades in the New Bloomington Masonic building, listed on the National Register of Historic, by installing an upgraded HVAC system. Marion County will also construct sidewalks and install playground equipment at New Bloomington Park.
- Morrow County will receive $172,000 to complete sidewalk improvement projects in Fulton and Marengo.
- The City of Tiffin will receive $150,000 to make park and recreation improvements at the Apple-Jack Park.

- Wyandot County will receive $66,250 to purchase two tornado sirens for two villages: Kirby and McCutchenville.
This funding comes from the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Allocation Program. Ohio’s 101 eligible communities are divided between even and odd years of funding, with 49 communities receiving a total of $10,997,450 for 2024.
