COLUMBUS— Honda of America announced a $4.2 billion multi-platform investment for its Ohio operations today at the historic Ohio Statehouse.

State Senator Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) joined Governor Mike DeWine, Senate President Matt Huffman (R- Lima), Speaker of the Ohio House of Representative Bob Cupp (R-Lima), and leadership from Honda of America to celebrate the announcement.

"Honda has a deep and long standing partnership with the people of Ohio, and both have flourished together over the last 40 years," Reineke said. "This announcement today only further cements that Ohio is the place to be for American Manufacturing."

$3.5 billion will build a battery plant in Fayette County generating an estimated 2,200 jobs.

$700 million will be dedicated to retooling at three plants: Marysville, Anna and East Liberty, for the purpose of EV manufacturing.

The project was coordinated through the efforts of the Governor’s office, JobsOhio and the Ohio Department of Development.
