COLUMBUS—State Senator Brian Chavez (R-Marietta) announced the investment of $660,556 to the Jefferson County Land Bank to support housing access for income-eligible residents. The funds will allow the land bank to purchase and rehabilitate three homes.

"Today's housing market is full of hurdles for all Ohioans looking for a place to call home," Chavez said. "This investment into Jefferson County will give families here a new opportunity to lay down roots in the community they love."These dollars are from the Welcome Home Ohio program, which was funded in House Bill 33, the state operating budget. The program provides grants for the purchase of qualifying residential properties, cost of construction or rehab, or a nonrefundable tax credit for qualifying activities. More than $31.5 million has been awarded through the program to support the construction or revitalization of 307 homes throughout Ohio.
