Senate Passes Chavez Bill Expanding Access To Ohio's Natural Beauty
COLUMBUS— The Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 342, sponsored by Senator Brian Chavez (R-Marietta), which ensures that Ohio's natural beauty is accessible to residents and visitors.
"Ohio's natural beauty is an economic driver for rural Ohio," said Senator Chavez. "Our unique geology provides for beautiful scenery and adventure. The parks, lakes, and logging facilities attract visitors from all over, supporting businesses and injecting millions of dollars into communities that depend on it. This legislation grants communities a practical tool for expanding their outreach and showing the rest of the world exactly what Ohio has to offer."
SB 342 ensures access to Ohio's natural beauty by providing for a conservancy district to participate in online tourism and lodging sites.
"This legislation is good for the conservancy districts, good for the rural communities they serve, and good for Ohio's tourism communities," added Senator Chavez.
The Ohio Senate has sent SB 342 to the Ohio House for further consideration.
